Communities in Partnership Town Hall
Communities in Partnership collaborated with investigators from three universities to study structural inequality in Old East Durham. Community canvassing led up to a Town Hall meeting, where participants developed topics for community participatory research projects in their
neighborhood. Working as a research assistant, I participated in neighborhood canvassing, summarized survey findings, designed visuals for Town Hall, and registered participants at the event.
A sample handout explains research methods used by the participating investigators and encourages community collaborators to take part. Three word clouds illustrate responses to the survey questions: what would you change about your neighborhood, what do you like about your neighborhood, and what needs to be done to make positive change happen.
