Development Impact Assessment

Completed for course credit as a hypothetical exercise, the Roberson Square Impact Assessment is designed to guide the Town of Carrboro in its strategic planning given the development of Roberson Square, a 91,575 square foot mixed-use development. The report covers the proposed development's impacts on public services, traffic, water supply, wastewater, stormwater, and climate change.

The site is located within a transitional zone between residential and commercial districts, with Carrboro’s Downtown Neighborhood Preservation overlay in effect. The image on the upper right shows the physical site characteristics as well as the proposed building footprint. Below, a map of neighboring parks shows nearby recreational facilities.
