Energy Policy Framework

Energy policy is a key component to maintaining environmental quality and limiting greenhouse gas emissions. Working as a research assistant for the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, I drafted an energy profile for North Carolina. Synthesizing data across multiple sources, I summarized consumption patterns and quantified the environmental impact of electricity generation.

A map shows the location of electric power generation facilities across the state. A breakdown of energy consumption by sector shows how electric generation allocated. The flow chart again illustrates energy consumption by sector, this time separating electricity generation to reveal the resources used to produce electricity.
